Overview

Tee On is a comprehensive golf booking platform used by clubs across North America.

 

The goal of this project was to redesign the booking engine for web, tablet and mobile devices, focusing on streamlining the tee time reservation process for golfers. The existing system was rigid, non-responsive,ot intuitive for modern use cases.

Average Booking Time reduced from 3.1 minutes to 1.7 minutes (↓ 45%)

Mobile Task Completion Rate increased from 58% to 92%

Player Booking Errors decreased by 70%

QR Code Ticketing introduced and used in 80% of mobile shares

User centered approach

Challenge

The existing booking system failed to meet the needs of modern golfers who expect seamless, mobile-first experiences. Players struggled with a non-responsive interface that was difficult to navigate on mobile devices, leading to frequent booking errors, especially when managing multiple players or selecting specific tee times.
The process lacked clarity, with limited feedback and no easy way to invite partners, transfer tickets, or confirm details. As a result, players often abandoned the booking flow out of frustration or had to rely on staff intervention, defeating the purpose of self service booking. The challenge was to transform this outdated system into a smooth, intuitive platform that empowers players to take full control of their golf bookings anytime, anywhere.

Solution

To address these challenges, we completely reimagined the booking experience from the player’s perspective, starting with a mobile-first design system optimized for web, phones and tablets. The interface was redesigned to guide players through each step of the process, from selecting tee times to inviting partners, with clear feedback and intuitive navigation.
We introduced dynamic tee sheets with filters for leagues and courses, streamlined the player management flow, and added features like ticket transfers and QR code confirmations for ease of use.
Each touchpoint was tested and refined to minimize errors, reduce booking time, and increase confidence. The result is a clean, responsive system that empowers players to book and manage their rounds effortlessly, with the flexibility and control they expect from a modern golf experience.
